In the year of the Diamond Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II and the XXX Olympiad and the XIV Paralympic Games, Royal Mail will issue a Faststamp illustrated with the Union Flag, as first used in the Submarine Centenary miniature sheet issued in 2001. It was later reformatted and issued in definitive size for the Smilers® range in 2005 when it was also issued in a retail stamp book.
Now it will be available as a pictorial stamp from Post & Go
machines in 146 branches (see list at end of release) in time for the
Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday celebrations from 2-5 June.
As before, these will also be sold from the Philatelic Bureau
at Tallents House in a special pack.

The labels will be used in Post & Go machines at Post Offices around
the country.
The mint stamp is be available from Royal Mail's Tallents House Bureau and
philatelic outlets in a pack:
Collectors reported on the day of issue receiving Royal Mail's publicity
brochure for the 31 May Jubilee stamps and finding details of this
included, with the warning that they would not be provided automatically
to bureau standing order customers, and that orders for FDCs must be made
by 21 May. Other collectors said that they had not yet received the
notice. Makes ordering FDCs by the date of issue a bit difficult!
We had two reports on the day of issue that the packs could not be sold at Post Office Counters because the item was not yet included in the till computer system. These two factors make it difficult for collectors to produce their own first day covers.
We will produce some FDCs
with single stamps and some with the set of 6.
